Yesterday Mac’s SLP told me that he helped the new little boy on the playground at session who was having trouble getting out of the tube on the slide. That may not sound like a huge deal to most parents but to the parent of an ASD child it’s a golden moment.
I see a lot of apps and services that were once one-time payments or free to consumers moving to a monthly subscription model. While I understand this makes sense for the sustainability of development what I don’t think people think about when they decide to go this route is that, even if the subscription is only $5/mo, that’s $60/yr. If you multiply that by several apps and service, you’re now easily wracking up hundreds of dollars a year in subscriptions.
I caught up on a backlog of laundry today and also went through Mac’s wardrobe and bagged up all the things he no longer fits into and organized his clothes. Daddy went to the store to pick up some wardrobe items for him to tide us over until we can do a major thrift trip. In addition to some pants and shirts, Mac now has a new jacket because none of his other jackets fit him now.
